Portage Description:
This is a qualified rating. If water levels are high, it's relatively easy portage. A little rocky and one slab rock you've got to climb up and over (not a large one but inconvenient for my arthritic knees) The difficulty lies in the creek. It's navigable in high water years, so you can float down it to a dinky portage on the Hamburg end. But if you put in and can't float your canoe (it's deceiving) there's no bottom to the creek. I sunk neck deep trying to push a canoe through that couldn't go forward or back. You can portage around the creek, but in high water years it's kinda slurpy on your feet, but in low water level years it's the only way to go. (That's the reason for the 350+ on the length. It may be longer if you portage around the creek.

Lake after portage: Maria
Known campsites: 4
Lake Description:

Maria's a shallow and island dotted lake. I've always just passed on through it so I don't know about it's fishing or quality of campsites.
