Portage Description:
This gets the difficult rating due to the low water levels. The Oriana Creek approach to the actual portage was not passable without wading through at least several hundred yards of muck and pulling over a couple beaver dams. There are two options at the start: 1. Get out and start wading up the creek, or 2. Start the portage on the right side of the creek, carry gear for 100 yards and re-enter the creek at the first beaver dam. We chose option two but in hindsight option one is probably easiest. You are going to get wet and muddy either way.

Continue to follow the creek as it winds through the marsh. At the end of the marsh there is a landing on the right side. The rest of the portage gets an average difficulty rating due to some decent uphill stretches.
