My 15-year-old son left this morning for a two-week canoe trip to Quetico. He is at a camp in northern Wisconsin, and this is called the "Big Trip", available only to the oldest campers and is a real privilege. Coming from Oklahoma, I was reassured and fascinated by these virtual trips through Quetico and feel like I have a sense of what he will experience. I am also envious! Thanks for the opportunity to see it until we are able to go in person.

Love this website. I have a baby now and don't know when I'll be able to go back to the BWCA again. This site allows me to reminisce about the good old days.

I found your web site while searching for Canoe Camping information. I found it a wonderful site and extremely relaxing and I have it in my favorites and go to it now and again - just to see the beauty. We canoe camp in the North Maine Woods of Maine and it very much reminds me of your pictures. Keep up the wonder site - it will always be a hit in my book.

I have two sons who have been going to the Boundary Waters with me every year for the last ten years or so. In fact, I am getting our gear ready for this years trip right now. To all the fathers out there who have not had the chance to experience the BWCA with their children, I encourage them to do it as soon as posible. My boys are both grown now and with their jobs and other responsibilities it gets harder every year to schedule our trips. This is one activity that we all enjoy and look forward to every year. It has enabled us to really become close, and I feel for this reason, every father out there should try to start the "Boundary Waters Trip" tradition as soon as possible. Life is very short, so I hope you all take the time to discover the magic of this beautiful area and what it has to offer us in the way of greater parent-child relationships and truly wonderful memories.

My grandfather raised me to visit the BWCA/Canada every year since I was 8. I am 26 now and planning to lead my first trip of 6 buddies this August. I am confident on my gear/food/safety planning, but am a bit unsure as to how to plan a route (a task always left to my grandfather previously, who is, unfortunately, no longer in good enough health to join us). Any tips on how to select a route, etc. for a four day, moderately difficult route for 6 men? Any tips are very welcome. We have all our own gear. Thanks for your help. Peace...Love...Respect. I am getting ready to take my first trip into Quetico. I have been to the Boundary Waters four times, now I'm told that I need to see what real fishing is like. I will let you know in a couple weeks-how it went

This summer I am going to Quetico with my boy scout troop for a week long canoe trip. I hope to see the Northern Lights and a moose. The pictue gallery had many interesting pictures and is well done.
